How to Renew Your NRPP Certification: The Complete 2025–2026 Guide

Your NRPP certification must be renewed every two years. The renewal process requires completing a set number of continuing education (CE) credits, submitting documentation, and — since October 2023 — completing a mandatory Standards Overview course for each certification you hold. This guide breaks down exactly what you need to do, how many credits are required for your certification type, and where to find NRPP-approved CE courses online.

Essential Steps:

  • Complete necessary CE credits
  • Complete a Standards Overview Course
  • Submit Required Device Information (if renewing a measurement professional certification)

CE Requirements by Certification Type

Certified professionals must regularly update their knowledge. This involves earning a designated number of Continuing Education credits every two years.

  • Measurement Professionals: 12 CE credits every 2 Years (Category I)

  • Mitigation Specialists 12 CE credits every 2 Years (Category I)

  • Measurement Field Technicians: 8 CE credits every 2 Years (Category I)

  • Mitigation Installers: 8 CE credits every 2 years (Category I)

  • Soil Gas Mitigation Compliance Inspectors 4 CE credits every 2 years (Category I)

Standards Overview Course

From October 1st, 2023, all certified individuals must complete a Standards Overview course for each certification during renewal. This course counts as 4 CEs.

How to choose an approved CE course

Not all CE courses are created equal. When choosing a provider, look for:

  • Explicit NRPP approval with a listed course number
  • Courses that cover current AARST/ANSI standards (particularly MS-QA 2023)
  • Self-paced options that fit your schedule
  • A certificate of completion you can submit for renewal

Our RDGY-400: Quality Control for Radon Measurements course is approved by the NRPP for 4 CE credits and covers all required QC topics for measurement professionals.
